Northmor, MG run in invitationals

The Northmor girls’ cross country team picked up fourth place out of 10 teams on Saturday at the Ontario Invitational.

The team was led by Ryann Brinkman, who ran eighth with a time of 21:16. Natalie Hunter finished 12th in 21:56.64, while Kate Lehman took 33rd in 23:27. Shelby Cooper claimed 36th in 23:36.67 and Veronica Kanagy was 46th in 24:15.63. Natalie Newman placed 47th in 24:15.91 and Katie Statler picked up 54th place in 24:39.69.

Also, Maddie May was 55th, Elizabeth Ruhl was 58th, Macie Witherall was 60th, Haylee Walker was 70th, Ella Albert was 73rd, Harley Barler was 81st, Ella Creswell was 97th and Kaylee Pope was 98th.

In the boys’ race, the Golden Knights took seventh place out of 13 teams.

David Blunk finished fourth with a time of 17:24.91 and Owen Yunker took 33rd in 19:05.21. Dane Creswell finished 40th in 19:20.79, Carter Thomas picked up 50th place in 19:32.39 and Anthony Schiebe ran 53rd in 19:39. Elliot Wall ran 69th in 20:47.98 and Markus Parsons took 82nd in 21:40.65.

Mount Gilead Indians

The Mount Gilead boys’ cross country team placed sixth at the Strongsville Invitational on Saturday in a 32-team race.

Will Baker took first place in the competition by finishing in 15:28.14. Owen Hershner placed 32nd in 16:52.26, while Tommy Emberg ran 64th in 17:31.65 and Henry Bartlett claimed 80th in 17:39.24. Nolan Hershner finished 85th in 17:42.66 and Ethan Turner claimed 145th in 18:23.8. Also, Gage Bowersmith took 166th in 18:41.33 and Liam Stalnaker was 204th in 19:20.65.

The girls’ squad claimed 17th out of 30 team in their race. Kimberly Staley placed 21st in 20:03.24 and Gwen Hershner ran 64th in 21:15.11. Haley Pfeifer finished 125th in 22:28.01, Adriana Hershner took 138th in 22:38.70 and Danielle Pohlkotte claimed 145th in 22:45.76. Also, Sophie Mosher finished 175th in 23:41.45 and Natalie Jagger picked up 204th place in 25:21.98.
