Grassbaugh off to district golf meet

Highland’s Ceci Grassbaugh advanced to the Division II district golf meet on Wednesday.

Grassbaugh earned the second of three individual bids to the district meet at the sectional hosted by Darby Creek Golf Couse. Her 18-hole total of 79 tied for third place overall.

As a team, the Scots were seventh with a score of 427. Sierra Fitzpatrick finished with a score of 104, while Ellie Rhea shot 121 and Piper Dabbert scored 123.

Northmor Golden Knights

The Northmor boys’ golf team missed out on a trip to districts by one stroke at Oakhaven Golf Club on Wednesday.

The Golden Knights, competing in a Division III sectional meet, finished third with a total of 372, but only the top two teams advanced. Liberty Christian won with a score of 363 and Berne Union placed second at 372.

Trevor Brubaker led the team by shooting 89 on the day. Both Billy Bowlin and Cade Miracle shot 93, while Trevor Black had a score of 97 and Jack Bowdre shot 99.

Highland Scots

Highland finished sixth in the Division II sectional golf meet hosted by Oakhaven Golf Club Wednesday.

The Scots were paced by Jayden Collins, who shot 86 on the day. Both Carter Merckling and Hunter Ebner scored 93 and Wayne Morrison finished with a total of 114 shots.

Mount Gilead Indians

Briggs Leffler of Mount Gilead competed Wednesday in the Division II sectional golf meet hosted by Oakhaven Golf Club.

His 18-hole total in the meet was 98.

Cardington Pirates

Competing at Darby Creek Golf Course on Tuesday, the Cardington Pirates finished sixth with a team total of 458 in their sectional meet.

Leading the way for the Pirates was Logan Reynolds, who had an 18-hole total of 93. Jake Stainer shot 102, while Rylan Fiant added a score of 120 and Carter Ramoneda scored 143.
