Two Morrow County girls’ golfers concluded their season on Wednesday at The Links at Echo Springs, located near Johnstown, in the Division II district tournament.
Katelyn Miley of Northmor barely missed out on a trip to the state meet after finishing fourth overall with a round of 79. The top team and top individual not on that team moved on to state from The Links. Team champion Columbus Academy had the individual champion, as well as one of two girls who tied for second. The lone individual qualifier was Kristina Ma of Columbus School for Girls, who shot 76 and was the other second-place finisher, leaving the Golden Knight senior one place and three strokes away from a state bid.
Also competing in the district meet was Highland senior Ceci Grassbaugh. Grassbaugh also earned a top-10 finish in the 36-golfer field. She placed ninth in the tournament after shooting 83 on the day.
