Cross country teams run at Harding

The Mount Gilead girls’ cross country team placed third in Saturday’s Harding Invitational, scoring 169 points in the 23-team race.

The team was led by Kimberly Staley, who ran seventh in 19:48.07. Gwen Hershner claimed 15th in 20:46.57 and Adriana Hershner finished 40th in 21:47.74. Haley Pfeifer ran 53rd in 22:16.99. Danielle Pohlkotte took 63rd in 22:41.2, while Natalie Jagger placed 133rd in 24:37.75 and Baylee Snyder claimed 152nd in 25:42.91.

Also, Ava Baker was 157th, Brooke Jagger was 167th and Lexi Fox was 186th.

Northmor took sixth in the race. Ryann Brinkman led the team by placing 11th in 20:28.24. Natalie Hunter ran 26th in 21:10.81 and Kate Lehman took 44th in 21:59.5. Veronica Kanagy placed 51st in 22:14.44, while Natalie Newman claimed 57th in 22:25.09. Hannah Ambroise finished 59th in 22:29.38 and Macie Witherall ran 67th in 22:53.38.

Also, Maddie May was 79th, Haylee Walker was 96th and Shelby Cooper was 110th.

Placing 17th was Cardington. Magi Hallabrin finished 14th in 20:45.28 and Sydney Meade took 70th with a time of 22:54.07. Chessa Redman placed 86th in 23:07, while Bailey Crone ran 120th in 24:04.12 and Madison Garrabrant claimed 127th in 24:16. Also, Alayna Seavolt got 140th in 24:52.15.

Highland was 21st. Braylin Romshak finished 85th in 23:05.44 in the race, while Brielle Gilmore placed 90th in 23:18.07 and Abbie Pruett got 125th in 24:41.95. Riley Matthews claimed 135th in 24:41.95, Rose Green took 138th in 24:49.87, Chloe Bolton finished 153rd in 25:43.63 and Aubrey Kanagy ran 159th in 26:07.15.

Gilead Christian also competed in the meet, with Seraiah Campbell taking 21st place in 21:01.57.

In the boys’ race, Highland took ninth place in a 22-team field. Matthew Miller placed 27th in 17:27.35, while Cael Gilmore ran 50th in 17:55.55 and Ethan Harmon placed 52nd in 17:56.48. Henry Spence claimed 58th in 18:03.2 and Jayden Marcum got 74th in 18:18.02. Maddox Weiss took 114th in 19:14.72 and Caden Barsic finished 130th in 19:41.03.

Also, Isaiah Ross was 147th, Bradon Lehman was 165th and Colton Clarkson was 172nd.

Northmor ran 12th on the day. David Blunk took 19th place in 17:07.62 and Vinton Naylor was 51st in 17:55.61 to lead the team. Dane Creswell placed 81st in 18:31.85, while Owen Yunker took 88th in 18:41.13. Anthony Scheibe took 97th in 18:47.87, Levi Hunter claimed 108th in 19:03.35 and Carter Thomas placed 109th in 19:04.31.

Also, Markus Parsons was 142nd, Elliot Wall was 143rd and Ethan Amens was 162nd.

Mount Gilead took 13th in the race. Liam Stalnaker placed 32nd in 17:31.52 to pace the team, while Brycen Gabriel finished 59th in 18:03.95 and Rowan Shaw claimed 77th in 18:26.93. Chace Staats claimed 78th in 18:28.07 and Grayson Smith took 82nd in 18:32.15. Caden Lewis finished 101st in 18:56.36, while Kasen Wallace finished 137th in 20:01.14.

Also, Ryan Swalley was 139th and Abram Newson was 174th.

Cardington finished 20th. The team was led by Dylan Compton, who was 30th in 17:30.62. Riley Patterson took 111th in 19:11.48 and Cohen Rammelsberg claimed 155th in 20:37.22. Brayden Alwood ran 171st in 20:58.82 and Jacob McNichols placed 173rd in 21:10.52, while Jaxon Ongalibang was 183rd in 21:43.88 and Brayden Rammelsberg got 186th in 22:00.56.

Also, Danny Townsend was 201st and Hunter Jones was 209th.

Also competing was Gilead Christian, who didn’t have a full team. Nathan Bossard finished 135th in 19:57.23.
