Mount Gilead claims both championships at Seneca East

Both Mount Gilead cross country teams picked up championships Saturday at the Seneca East Tiger Classic.

The boys scored 32 points to top their 19-team field. Will Baker won the race in 15:11.11. Owen Hershner took fourth place in 16:29.5 and Henry Bartlett ran 10th in 17:14.34. Nolan Hershner placed 11th in 17:18.44, while Tommy Emberg ran 12th in 17:18.91, Gage Bowersmith was 19th in 17:47.6 and Ethan Turner placed 20th in 17:48.07.

Also, Ryan Swalley was 21st, Liam Stalnaker was 31st, Cade Lewis was 33rd, Chace Staats was 34th, Brycen Gabriel was 36th, Rowan Shaw was 38th, Abram Newson was 53rd, Kasen Wallace was 58th, Grayson Smith was 73rd, Jon Miller was 76th, Elias Bulkowski was 78th, Blake Staats was 98th, Tyler Miller was 114th, Marshall Hand was 124th, Tiger Carmon was 125th, Gavin Keller was 144th and Max Bulkowski was 164th.

The girls’ team scored 52 points to come in first in a 12-team race. Kimberly Staley paced MG by placing fourth in 19:52.04. Gwen Hershner ran sixth in 20:33.78, while Adriana Hershner took 18th in 22:16.67. Danielle Pohlkotte finished 24th in 22:52.74, Haley Pfeifer was 26th in 22:56.69 and Sophie Mosher took 29th in 23:03. Natalie Jagger finished 39th in 23:25.74.

Also, Baylee Snyder was 57th, Ava Baker was 78th, Taylor McCarty was 91st, Brooke Jagger was 94th and Lexi Fox was 130th.

Colonel Crawford Invitational

In Saturday’s Colonel Crawford Invitational, the Northmor girls’ cross country team came in second out of 15 teams, only placing eight points behind Upper Sandusky in the meet.

Ryann Brinkman took 12th place in 20:40.85 to lead the Golden Knights, while Natalie Hunter finished 17th in 21:37.24 and Kate Lehman ran 28th in 22:39.91.

Veronica Kanagy took 31st in 22:51.43 and Katie Statler finished 38th in 23:37.28. Macie Witherall placed 47th in 23:54.66, while Haylee Walker took 52nd in 24:06.74.

Also, Shelby Cooper was 54th, Elizabeth Ruhl was 58th, Maddie May was 61st, Hannah Ambroise was 68th, Natalie Newman was 73rd, Harley Barler was 78th, Sarah Ambroise was 80th, Ella Creswell was 87th, Kaylee Pope was 93rd and Ella Albert was 103rd.

Cardington took eighth in the race, with Magi Hallabrin placing ninth in 20:34.61. Sydney Meade took 27th in 22:38.14 and Chessa Redman finished 59th in 24:32.98. Alayna Seavolt ran 72nd in 25:24.49 and Madison Garrabrant took 77th in 25:46.15.

Gilead Christian had two runners in the meet. Seraiah Campbell finished 19th in 21:40.59 and Aryanna Green took 41st in 23:40.02.

In the boys’ race, which was won by Columbus Grove, Northmor finished fourth with 117 points. A total of 15 teams competed.

David Blunk took third place in 16:43.71 to lead the Golden Knights. Vinton Naylor ran 14th in 17:33.91 and Levi Hunter placed 34th in 18:35.68. Owen Yunker finished 35th in 18:37.77 and Dane Creswell took 37th in 18:44.52, while Carter Thomas ran 43rd in 19:17.68 and Anthony Scheibe finished 49th in 19:41.58.

Also, Elliot Wall was 62nd, Markus Parsons was 63rd and Ethan Amens was 112th.

Cardington ran 10th in the meet, with Dylan Compton placing 25th in 18:13.29. Jacob McNichols took 65th in 20:50.08, while Riley Patterson finished 69th in 21:03.11. Cohen Rammelsberg claimed 71st in 21:15.43 and Jaxon Ongalibang was 77th in 21:39.25. Brayden Rammelsberg finished 86th in 22:20.27 and Thor Kovacs took 97th in 23:22.08.

Also, Hunter Jones was 107th and Jacob Webb was 129th.

For Gilead Christian, Nathan Bossard finished 57th in 20:15.32, Jackson Keller placed 81st in 21:49.52 and Maxwell Keller was 118th in 25:51.76.

Newark Catholic Invitational

Highland ran at the Newark Catholic Invitational on Saturday, with the boys’ team finishing sixth and the girls taking eighth.

The boys were led by Matthew Miller, who finished 10th in 16:51.78. Henry Spence took 35th in 18:19.44 and Cael Gilmore finished 39th in 18:37.17. Ethan Harmon claimed 45th place in 18:47.43, while Jayden Marcum placed 51st in 19:00.84. Maddox Weiss took 69th in 20:19.24 and Caden Barsic finished 72nd in 20:26.85.

Also, Konner Blaney was 89th.

In the girls’ race, Riley Matthews took 45th in 22:59.01 and Braylin Romshak ran 50th in 23:30.78. Kindylle Mallow placed 53rd in 23:52.98, while Brielle Gilmore was 65th in 24:55.92. Abbie Pruett finished 70th in 25:34.38, Chloe Bolton placed 84th in 27:46.86 and Aubrey Kanagy was 85th in 28:01.59.
