Highland continued to win in league play on Thursday when they traveled to Ontario and came away with a 25-16, 25-20, 25-10 victory.
Larsen Terrill had 35 assists and six kills in the contest. She became the second Scot following current Old Dominion University player Ashlynn Belcher to reach the 2000 assist mark, hitting that milestone in the first set. Also, Kameron Stover had 14 kills and eight digs, Reagan Maibach added 14 kills and Makaylee Merckling had 14 digs.
Cardington Pirates
The Cardington volleyball team was topped by Fredericktown in three sets on Thursday by scores of 25-18, 25-7 and 25-9.
The visiting Pirates got four kills, two blocks, seven digs and eight assists from Alexis Longsdorf in the contest.
Northmor Golden Knights
Northmor fell at Centerburg in a Thursday KMAC volleyball match by scores of 25-12, 25-15 and 25-17.
Hannah James picked up four kills and five blocks in the contest, while Kallie Wright finished with three aces and six digs. Lizzie Erlsten picked up eight digs and 13 assists, while Mary Dean added six digs.
Mount Gilead Indians
On Thursday, host Mount Gilead attempted to battle back against Danville, but fell 3-1 to the Blue Devils in volleyball.
The Indians lost the first two sets 25-13 and 25-8, but battled back to take the third by a 25-21 count before falling 25-22 in the fourth set to suffer the loss. Olivia Long had 11 kills in the match. Brooklynn White finished with seven kills and three aces, while Cassady Irwin added six kills and four aces. Lindsey Ayers had three aces and nine digs and Abby Leonhard contributed two blocks. Also, Kylee Whipple had 13 digs and Katie Oliver added nine, while Faith White had 11 assists.
The Indians improved to 3-8 on the season on Saturday after topping visiting Bucyrus 25-23, 26-24 and 25-11.
Irwin recorded five kills in the match, while Ayers had five aces to go with 10 digs and Leonhard added three aces. Brooklynn White finished with three blocks and both Irwin and Leonhard had two. Whipple contributed 15 digs and Faith White picked up five assists.
